Charge Across Town – is a public-private partnership between city government, local businesses and the electric vehicle (EV) community to raise awareness of EV’s and to educate consumers on the benefits, costs and feasibility of owning an electric car. SMG managed Charge Across Town’s Twitter and Facebook accounts, gaining over 100 Twitter followers and contributing over 300 tweets from June through September 2012. The educational event was held in San Francisco at Justin Herman Plaza on September 17, 2012, beginning Charge Across Town’s inaugural EV Week. Leading up to the launch, SMG participated in planning meetings and worked with a PR partner to advertise the event through social media outlets and public calendars. SMG live-tweeted on location throughout both days of the EV Week event, and later edited videos, interviews, and photo slideshows of EV Week for Charge Across Town’s YouTube account.
