Thursday, January 31, 2013 (Partner Event): Hear how Chevron incorporates renewable energy & energy efficiency into its business! Chevron Technology Ventures (CTV) scouts outside the corporation for emerging technologies to integrate into the company. Mr. King will talk about the role renewable energy and energy efficiency technologies are expected to play in the energy landscape and will describe what types of technologies Chevron chooses to integrate and some examples of those they are using in their own operations.
Desmond (Des) King is President of CTV, a division of Chevron that champions innovation, commercialization and integration of emerging technologies and related new business models within the corporation. He is a member of Chevron’s corporate management committee, corporate technology board, and chair of Chevron’s corporate steering committee for renewable energy and energy efficiency. Des is a chemical engineer with a BSc from Imperial College – London and a PhD from the University of Cambridge. He’s also a Fellow and past-President of the Institution of Chemical Engineers and a member of the US DOE external advisory council on renewable energy.
